The VIKING COMPETITIONS
There are four competitions running consecutively. They are called:
The ‘VIKING CHAMPIONSHIP’
The ‘VIKING CUP’
The ‘Viking Indy 500 Championship’
The ‘Viking Team 1000 Championship’
There are six Viking teams called:
Brands, Cadwell, Donington, Oulton, Silverstone & Thruxton.
All Club members and visitors are assigned to one of the six Viking teams. Teams members are assigned to each team by selection by the Team Principals before the first race of the year. The 6th placed Team Principal choses a member from the entire list of club racers from the previous year. Then, the 5th placed Team principal choses a member. This continues until all members are selected.
The Team Principals are assigned annually. The Principals are the six drivers accumulating the most points in the preceding year.
Team Principal’s objectives are to see that best practices of car preparation and racing techniques are encouraged in their teams.
How each competition works:
The ‘VIKING CHAMPIONSHIP’ is won by the driver who amasses the most points in the VIKING CHAMPIONSHIP races.
